Seychelles Made Certification Process

What is the Seychelles Made Brand?

The Seychelles Made brand is a national certification issued by the Enterprise Seychelles Agency which aims to authenticate and certify genuine locally made products as means of valorizing local manufacturers.

The brand aims to:

  • Promote locally produced goods in both domestic and export markets.
  • Strengthen national identity and confidence in locally made products.
  • Support economic growth by encouraging local production and value addition.

A product that meets the required criteria and is granted certification may carry the Seychelles Made logo which signifies authenticity and compliance with national standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for a Seychelles Made certificate, an applicant must ensure that the product meets at least one of the following criteria:

  • At least 50% of the final cost of production took place in Seychelles; or
  • Substantial transformation of the product takes place in Seychelles, meaning:
  1. Change in tariff classification - an imported input shall be processed to a degree that the resulting product or produce is classified under a different tariff classification at the Harmonized System (HS) Code 4-digit level from all of its imported inputs, which implies that the final good shall be of a different tariff classification than the imported goods used in its production; The product is classified under a different tariff classification from its imported inputs.
  2. Manufacturing or processing operations - regardless of a change in its classification, a good will be considered substantially transformed when a manufacturing or value addition process takes place, in Seychelles, through the introduction of a locally originating or produced input which gives the initial product or produce a new characteristic.
